Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Emotion Journey Limited when you book a trip with us. Plain English, honest edges. Last updated September 2026.

Bookings & what's included

A journey is confirmed once your 20% deposit clears. Your itinerary document lists exactly what's included — accommodation, transfers, booked experiences and planning support. Flights to and from New Zealand are never included unless we state it in writing.

Prices are quoted in NZ dollars, per person, twin share, unless your itinerary says otherwise. Single supplements are shown before you commit — never after.

“Book now” requests on our journeys and destinations pages are enquiries, not confirmed bookings. Nothing is charged until you approve the final route.

Changes, cancellations & weather

Life happens. Cancel more than 45 days out and we refund your deposit minus a NZ$150 admin fee. Inside 45 days, refunds follow our suppliers' policies — we'll always push for the maximum and show you the numbers.

New Zealand weather rewrites itineraries; it's part of the deal. If a booked element is cancelled by the operator (a boat that can't sail, a road that closes), we secure an alternative or refund that component in full.

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance and will nudge you about it once. Consider this the nudge.

Adults-only experiences

Some itineraries include evenings at casino hotels or seats at casino events. These are strictly for guests aged 18 and over, and every venue requires valid photo ID at entry. If anyone in your party is under 18, we'll plan a parallel alternative — nobody gets left at the lobby.

Responsible-play guidance is included with every such booking, and venue limit tools plus voluntary self-exclusion apply at all times. Gambling must stay entertainment; our hosts are trained to spot when it isn't and to point to help. Read more on our casino hotels and casino events pages.

Liability & being reasonable

We plan with care and book only operators we'd trust with our own families — but we aren't the airline, the boat skipper or the weather. Each supplier's own terms apply to their part of your trip, and our liability is limited to the planning fee we charged you.

In return we ask for the basics: accurate information in your brief, respect for hosts and venues, and honesty about fitness or mobility needs so routes stay safe and comfortable.
